Editing Work Shop - 14th October

Task 3 of editing work shop

With this being now the third task, I was pretty confident with the software than the previous two obviously so thought I'd be okay, I couldn't of been more wrong though! I found it okay at first, swapping from shot to shot, then slowly realising that some of it was out of sync with the sound, resulting in me having to start from scratch all over, as a lot of it was pretty unsalvageable or so I thought.
So starting again I took more time and care with it, thinking about the shots more and the gaps at which the dialogue stops, trying to make sure there was to lip flap.
Looking back at this, I feel there are some really pointless edits, and some bizarre shot choices which were pointless, for example i've used the establishing shot too many times, when I should of really been using the CUs a bit more, and just generally pointless edits, i.e at 0:25 - 0:29 I cut from a MCU to ES to CU when it really wasn't necessary.
On the other hand though thinking more positively, i'm still learning how to use this software to it's full potential and it is just about getting the basics right, which I know will take time.

This task definitely had my cognitions ticking more so than the others because there were more things to think about and to take into consideration, overall i'm satisfied with what I put together however I know that there is always room for improvement and constructive criticism to take on board.
